Moâ

Born and bread and butter on Mars during the twentieth century.

Étymologiquement, un malotru est une personne née sous une mauvaise étoile (male astrucus). Nés sous “l’étoile (et la clef) de la mer des Indes”, comme le disent nos armoiries, nous sommes tous des malotrus en puissance. Ça promet.

Why “Mars”? Well, it’s simply because, at a time we were both far away from our respective homelands, both strangers in a strange land, I had a Pakistani friend who used to call me his “Ma.r.tian friend”. Mauritians can indeed be green sometimes, partly due to a new concept called “sustainability”, but never too much.

Kan mo ti lekol, enn lane mo ti ena enn profeser franse ki ti enn Franse. Li ti kontan fer lalis bann “mauricianismes” ki li ti tourve dan nou devoir. Sakenn ti bizin lir so bann prop “mauricianismes” divan tou dimounn. Sa ti fer li riye terib. Nou nou pa ti pe konpran kifer.
